In Ephesians 6:18 God says 'Pray … on all occasions'. We can't have victory if we don't pray. Our prayers invite God into a situation, they acknowledge that we’re dependent upon Him, powerless without Him, and they hand a situation over to God. And God says, "If my people will humble themselves and pray, I will hear … forgive their sins and heal their land" (2 Chron 7:14). God responds to our prayers; He hears from heaven and He acts in response to them. He dispatches warring, ministering angels to work on our behalf. Prayer is the key that unlocks all the resources of heaven to release them on the earth, now rather than when we get to heaven. It is the key to God's treasure trove of blessings and power that are available to us as children of God. And prayer pushes back the powers of darkness which is why Jesus said, "My house will be known as a house of Prayer". Good preaching and worship are vital too because they bring the Word and light in, but prayer pushes the darkness back. Prayer brings our thoughts and words into alignment with God's, and the enemy has to bend the knee at the name of Jesus spoken in prayer. Prayer is so incredibly powerful that the enemy will try all kinds of ways to stop us from praying. But we must never stop praying. Our prayers rise up to God, they shift things in the heavenly realm, and He responds, always.
Prayer is the Key
