Sometimes we think that we understand a situation, or we clearly don't understand it and would dearly love to. In those times God, as a loving and caring Father, is very keen that we understand things from His perspective. Our subjective viewpoint often causes us to see things with a rather warped perspective because we see what we want to see, hear what we want to hear and understand what we want to understand. And it's hard to believe that it could be anything other than that. But sometimes we also begin to suspect that we are not seeing things as they truly are, that our perspective may be twisted by our experiences and feelings. Our memories of past experiences and relationships can become very distorted over time, and that distortion causes us to become trapped in the past. We think, ‘What if .. I had done or said that - would things be any different now? To avoid such regret and entrapment, it's good to ask God - May I know the truth, please show me the truth of this situation, so that I may be set free. For Jesus said to us, '"You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free”. Free from what? Regrets. The ties of the past. Things done or left undone. Disappointments. Unforgiveness. The Bible says, Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So, invite the Spirit of the Lord to show you the truth and to set you free.
