The Trinity

In the beginning God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness" so God is clearly plural! We understand that there is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It's hard to separate them but let's try! God the Father created us, created the earth and heavens and gave us stewardship over the land and every creature. He created us to be in relationship with Him because His very nature is love and we are the subjects of His great love. Jesus, God the Son, is our Saviour, willingly sent by God to die on the cross for us as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. The penalty for sin is death, but amazingly not ours but Jesus' death on the cross. Jesus, beautiful beyond our understanding or comprehension, obedient unto death, the greatest teacher and preacher and representative of God's mighty love ever known. I love the fact that Jesus always points us to God the Father whilst God always points us to Jesus the Saviour. When we receive Jesus into our lives, we also receive God the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, enabling us to begin to understand the mind, ways and truth of God, revealing to us the almost incomprehensible righteousness, power, majesty and justice of God the Father. If I am a follower of Jesus, I am also a child of God, filled with the Spirit, and my whole identity is found in Him, the Trinity, Elohim. Awesome!!
